A solution to the Chick-fil-A problem?
katherinespiers:
So, we have learned that Chick-fil-A doesn’t just give money to right-wing groups. They also don’t want gay people using their corporate retreat facilities. Horrible people, these chicken-slingers.
But people - even people who love gay people! and gay people themselves! - love buttery chicken sandwiches. And now that Chick-fil-A is expanding in Los Angeles (one at USC and one...
The Stepfathers.
cathrynmudon:
This is tonight’s installment of me reaching out to let The Stepfathers know that they mean the world to me, and to ask (who, exactly? …I don’t know) if I could please play with them this Friday. (last night’s installment)
In the recent UCB spirit of asking for magical, improbable things, I decided to spend this week committed to one of my longstanding dreams: to play with The...
Agent M Loves Tacos: On Wizard. →
agentmlovestacos:
Today, the news broke that Wizard and ToyFare magazines were shutting down and the company was letting staffers go. Oh, and that Wizard World is now a public company and they’re going into the online game. You can get the news all over. (And yes, by “all over” I may link to only two sites,…
Agent M gets it completely right. And it inspires me to pour out even more of my...
Coworker ate my lunch.
And they all think it’s hilarious! Ha ha ha! Now I get to have Baked Lays for lunch, which is great for my sore throat! Oh, what a day!
Wizard Magazine To Close Immediately →
While part of me could be glad that the declaration I made so boldly upon being laid off has come to pass (about a year after when I said it would, but still), I am filled with nothing but sadness and anger (or sadnangsser). Why?
There is absolutely no reason for anyone to have lost a job.
But Wizard’s continued refusal to change with the times has now completely bitten them in their foot...

If you haven’t listened to this week’s UCBNY Podcast, get up on it! Leslie is one of the best people I have ever worked with and it is so inspirational/fascinating/awesome to hear her story, her ups and downs, and to get her theory and method behind sketch acting. Plus there’s also a ton of Ye Olde Tales of Harold Night in it, which I always eat like it’s a volcano taco at...

We would very, very much like Chris…

The St. Elsewhere thing still blows my mind. I read an article years ago that explained how far-reaching that one series is, in terms of crossing over. That article is here. Read the whole thing (for how Star Trek is connected to all this stuff), but here’s the gist:
Characters from St. Elsewhere have appeared on Homicide, which means that show is part of the autistic child’s daydream and...
Dark Knight Rises: Catwoman and Bane →
patbaer:
was just about to post this.
Bane is one of the more “realistic” villains in the Rogue’s Gallery, but that doesn’t make me excited for him. By realistic, I mean he’s not half penguin or a guy obsessed with time. He’s a strong man made stronger by drugs. Nolan’s going to have his work cut out for him to make Bane interesting.
As for Catwoman: I like Anne Hathaway, I like Catwoman. Now,...

This set of interns was STACKED! A dedicated and hard-working bunch that represented the theater well. Check out these pictures! (Not included in this set: Other super interns of the time Anna “Lady Who Took All These Pictures” Rubanova, Sara Chase, David Siegel, Molly Robertson AND GARRET PALM!)
Whoa, that is a good group. Even I know who they all are and there...

I defy you to find something Gonzo has said that is not something I would say (making allowances for movie-logic, the sexual attractiveness of chickens, etc.).
It’s much easier to list things that you have said that Gonzo would never say. I’ve compiled a list at www.halphillips.tumblr.com

Abbi’s Jacobson’s “Welcome to Camp”
Diddy Gethard
And that’s just what I have seen. This is already an amazing year. Wow.

Why do I have such a hard time motivating myself...
benzado:
I’ve noticed I act this way regardless of context. I have to mount an enormous internal struggle to make the call. A few days ago it was a social call, to invite someone on a date. That’s no surprise, right? But today I need to make a few calls that are work related, and it feels just as difficult. I’m relieved when somebody else offers to dial the phone to order the pizza. And I never...
